BUFFER THE ROBOT
TOOLS

JIGSAW
In 1946 a Swiss engineer replaced the needle on his wife's sewing machine with a little saw blade and the Jigsaw was born! This tool is a reciprocating saw used for cutting wood, plastic, and metal.
I made the first 50 Robots deep in the hills of Northern California with a Jigsaw and a power drill hooked up to a friend's solar array.

SCROLL
SAW
My Father taught me how to use many tools when I was young. One of my favorite wood working tools was the scroll saw. Today, this saw is one of my primary tools in The Robot Factory. This fixed blade reciprocating saw allows me to make tight curves and clean intricate cuts. Buffer the Robot really started to evolve once I added this saw to the Robot Factory.

LASERS!
I recently began working with this fascinating new tool called a Glowforge. The Glowforge is a laser printer, engraver, and cutter. This is as close as I've gotten to getting a Robot to make my Robots! A whole new world of possibilities has opened up to me because of this remarkable device. Plus, its super awesome! I mean, come on, using lasers to cut trees to build Robots! Sounds like the future to me! Visit the Glowforge website to learn more about this amazing machine.
